Digital Learning Team

The Digital Learning team comprises 4 functional areas - Educational Technology, Learning Design, Digital Learning Faculty Support, and the Projects and Administration team. We work alongside and consult with academics and departments to design courses and use multimedia and online learning tools to create educational experiences.

Matt Street

Head of Digital Learning

Matt leads the Digital Learning team and oversees the development and implementation of online learning at the University. He retains principal responsibility for the team's direction and strategy, ensuring that online courses meet educational standards and enhance the student learning experience.


Educational Technologies

The Educational Technologies team is responsible for supporting and developing the University's digital ecosystem, and partnering with stakeholders to advance the use of technology in teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring Warwick delivers a high-quality, inclusive educational experience.

What we do

  • Support the use of Moodle, Mahara, Padlet, Vevox, EchoVideo and other digital learning tools.
  • Work with people to build their Moodle spaces.
  • Manage lecture capture scheduling

Faculty Digital Learning Support

The Faculty Advisory teams partner with faculties and/or departments, supporting a flexible ‘digital first’ culture. Faculty Consultants, assisted by Faculty Advisors, lead transformative projects and provide specialised guidance to academics in the use of educational technologies and take a leading role developing capability and capacity in digital learning practices.

Learning Design

The Learning Design team support and guide academic and professional service staff with on-going planning and development of online and blended learning. We work collaboratively to design the learning experience, advising on appropriate technologies and teaching approaches and creating multimedia resources to enrich the user experience.

Iain Gibson

Digital Learning Partnerships Manager

Iain manages our relationship with key external organisations who partner with the University to design and deliver a number of our online programmes.

Working with academic and professional services colleagues from across the University, Iain is responsible for ensuring that these strategic partnerships enable the University to grow its online portfolio whilst ensuring that our online students receive the high-level education experience associated with being a University of Warwick student.

Helen is responsible for the provision of administrative support, co-ordinating events and meetings, managing stakeholder communication and access to information about services and facilities provided by Flexible and Online Learning Division (FOLD).

Digital Learning Projects Manager (vacant)

The Digital Learning Projects Manager is responsible for developing and managing projects related to blended and online learning. They work in partnership with the Digital Learning leadership to co-ordinate and manage all stages of a project lifecycle.
