Add a custom template to the site gallery

When you first create a custom template, it's not visible to other people who edit your site unless they have edit permissions on the home page. You can prepare and test a template behind the scenes before you share it with others.

Once you've finished editing your template, there are two ways to share it with other people who edit your site:

Make a template visible via the current site tab

  1. Go to Edit > More and select the Current site tab.

  2. Your existing custom page templates are displayed under Site templates:

The 'Site templates' section, with an existing template

  3. The eye icon next to a template denotes its visibility:

    • Not visible in template gallery: The template is not shown to editors in the template gallery.

    • Visible in template gallery: The template is shown to editors in the template gallery.

  4. Select the icon for a template to toggle its visibility on or off.

  5. When you've finished, select Done.

  6. Your template is now available for others to choose when they create a new page on your site:

The SiteBuilder template gallery, with a custom template displayed

Make a template visible via template properties

  1. On the Current site tab, select the template you want to edit under Site templates, then select the Edit button:

The 'Site templates' section of the 'Current site' tab, with an existing template selected and the 'Edit' button highlighted

  2. The SiteBuilder banner changes to green, denoting the transition to the template editor:

  3. Select Edit template properties.

  4. On the Template properties screen, select the Show in template gallery checkbox.

  5. Select Save changes, then select Done.

  6. Your template is now available for others to choose when they create a new page on your site:
