GREAT Scholarships 2025/2026 - Turkey

Open to International students only.

Warwick is delighted to offer one award of £15,000 in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign for a Turkish student pursuing a taught master’s course at University of Warwick.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Be a Turkish national residing in Turkey and be assessed as international for fee purposes
    • Have applied to one of the following taught Master’s course at the University of Warwick to begin studies in 2025:

    List of Taught Master's Courses

    • Have received a conditional or unconditional offer and have accepted this offer
    • Must not be in receipt of any other source of funding, either from Warwick or from another external funding body

    Successful candidates are expected to:

    • Be active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area
    • Be willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI
    • Be willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
    • Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships
    • Be willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK

     On return to Turkey:

    • Be willing to demonstrate future contribution to capacity-building and socio-economic advancement through the benefits achieved after graduating from UK higher education
    • Be willing to maintain contact with the British Council and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, by sharing experiences of studying in the UK with future GREAT scholars
    • As an alumnus of the GREAT Scholarships, be willing to occasionally speak to potential candidates about your experience of studying in the UK

    The University awards scholarship on the basis of academic merit and information provided on your application to the University as well as your scholarship application forms. You may be contacted for additional information.

    The University of Warwick reserves the right not to allocate the award if the selection panel identifies no suitable candidates.

      Philosophy Bursaries

      Philosophy Bursaries

      Open to UK students.

      A number of Philosophy Department scholarships and bursaries are available for applicants to our MA and MPhil programmes who are commencing study in 2025/26. Awards will be automatically deducted from the awardees' tuition fees.

      • Applicants must have a Home fee status and be UK domiciled
      • Priority will be given to applicants from groups traditionally underrepresented in Philosophy*.

      Award Value:

      50% tuition fee award

      • All applicants must apply via the application form.
      • All applicants must have applied for one of the following Warwick courses in order to be eligible to apply for a scholarship or bursary:
        • MA Philosophy
        • MA Philosophy and the Arts
        • MA Continental Philosophy
        • MPhil (2 year)
      • The deadline for applications for funding in the 2025/26 year is Thursday, 1st May 2025.
      • Decisions will be communicated to all applicants within 4 weeks of the closing date.
      • Candidates may apply concurrently to other funding sources; however, successful candidates who receive major tuition funding elsewhere will be ineligible for a Philosophy Department award.
      • Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in future years.

      Selection Criteria

      All decisions will be made on academic merit (based upon MA/MPhil application and supporting documents). Please note that this is not a needs-based scholarship, so your financial situation will not be taken into account.

      *Traditionally underrepresented groups in philosophy include women philosophers, black philosophers, Asian philosophers, Latina/o and Hispanic Philosophers, Indigenous/Native philosophers, LGBTQIA+ philosophers, and philosophers with a disability.

      All applicants must apply via the application form.
