Warwick in Westminster

We are keen to use this section of the Government Affairs website to showcase some of the work that members of the University of Warwick have been doing to influence policy in Westminster.

Just this month, Dr Diana Beech, Head of Government Affairs, was a guest speaker at a Research England-HEPI roundtable discussion on the future of research and development funding in the UK, speaking alongside Professor Andy Westwood, Dean for Social Responsibility at the University of Manchester, and Professor Quintin McKellar, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire. Diana also spoke at a meeting of the Lighthouse Policy Group on future careers after policy work.

Next term, we are pleased to announce we already have two Warwick academics lined up to speak at two different Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT) events in the House of Commons. See News section for further details.

Dr Diana Beech is also scheduled to speak at the January meeting of the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN) hosted by the University of Nottingham. She is also a keynote speaker the annual conference of the Higher Education Strategic Planners Association (HESPA) at the University of Birmingham.

If you are a member of the University and already have significant policy engagement worked lined up in a personal capacity, then do please inform us so that we can publicise your news and help build a community of policy influencers!
