My Research

Methods

My research involves the use of a wide of techniques. The following are the main techniques employed for which i am highly proficient at.

  • Electrochemical methods: Voltammetry, chronoamperometry
  • Scanning electrochemical cell microscopy (SECCM)
  • Langmuir-Schaefer films
  • Field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM)
  • Atomic force microscopy (AFM): in-situ tapping mode, conducting (contact) mode, ambient tapping mode

Quantifying the spatial resolution of SECCM

SECCM resolution

The contact diameter of the meniscus for a ~350 nm pipet was determined to be 220-320 nm.

Nanoscale SECCM imaging of ruthenium hexamine carried out using a ~ 350 nm pipet on basal plane HOPG.

Ruhex on HOPG

High resolution electrochemical imaging under high mass transport reveals the basal plane of HOPG to be homogenously active and possess fast electron transfer kinetics.
