Research Highlights
I studied on optimal influenza vaccine allocation to a susceptible population during my master's degree at University of Waterloo. My aim was to find optimal vaccine allocation strategy by using discrete-event simulation and simulation-optimization methods. My PhD dissertation topic is Home Healthcare Nurse Routing and Scheduling Problem. Home healthcare is becoming one of the most important components of health care and its importance is growing rapidly since populations of developed and even developing countries are getting older quickly and the number of hospitals, retirement homes, and medical staff do not increase at the same rate. My aim is to optimize routing and scheduling activities, two popular NP-Hard combinatorial optimization problems in the literature, by employing heuristic methods and considering the future demand.
