Craig Gent
I am a PhD student in the Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodolgies (CIM) where I am supervised by Nate Tkacz and Celia Lury. I am funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and my research looks at dashboard interfaces and the reconfiguration of work in advanced capitalism. I am also a member of the Social Theory Centre and Connecting Research on Employment and Work (CREW).
Background
I studied for my undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I gained a First Class BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and International Relations. I then studied for an MA in Social and Political Thought at the University of Sussex, earning a Distinction.
My PhD research lies at the nexus of political theory, philosophy of technology, media theory and critical management studies. My wider research interests are broad but interconnected, spanning critical social theory (particularly in relation to work), political economy, Heidegger, autonomist Marxism and European philosophy.
