Invited speaker at Warwick SynBio Forum 2017 - presented thoughts from a former teacher's perspective on how to make outreach in schools have a lasting and useful impact.
Finalist of Global Food Security's "Speak up for Food Security" competition, March 2017. Training workshop on science communication to a general audience and preparation of 3-minute judged talk about my research for a general audience.
Conferences and Symposia
Selected speaker at Rooting 2017: The 8th International Symposium on Root Development, held in UmeƄ, Sweden (29th May-1st June). Presented 15 minute seminar on conceptual background of my research and hypothesis of cell cycle involvement in immunity-growth antagonism.
Selected speaker at ISRR 2018: Exploring the Hidden Half: The 10th International Symposium of the International Society of Root Research, held in Jerusalem, Israel (28th June-4th July). Presented a 15 minute seminar on cell cycle involvement in mediating growth-immunity antagonism.

Participated in BiotechYES (2017): attended workshop at Syngenta, Jealott's Hill, and as part of a team of 5, devised and pitched a business plan for a hypothetical biotechnology product.
