About Warwick Amnesty
The Warwick Amnesty Society
Warwick Amnesty started as an Amnesty student group with the aim to sensibilise Warwick students on Amnesty International's campaigns and activities in defense of Human Rights. The exec team organises a meeting every week (except in exceptional circumstances) to plan up and coming events, discuss the latest Amnesty campaigns and welcome ideas from our members and the student body.
Through the newly established Warwick HUB, we often collaborate with other campaigning and volunteering societies at Warwick which share our ideas on the fight against Human Rights abuses.
Every year we organise Warwick's Protect the Human Week, during which we dedicate each day of the week to a specific Amnesty campaign by holding talks, fundraising activities, discussion forums and presentations related to each campaign.
Absolutely everybody is warmly welcome to the society's meetings and event. You do not need to be a member of the society to attend and we hope to see many of there!

Amnesty International
Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.
AI’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.
In pursuit of this vision, AI’s mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.
AI is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. It does not support or oppose any government or political system, nor does it support or oppose the views of the victims whose rights it seeks to protect. It is concerned solely with the impartial protection of human rights.
Warwick Amnesty is an Amnesty International UK Student Group dedicated to campaigning on AI campaigns across the campus. We hold various events throughout the year. Our flagship event is Protect the Human week but we hold occasional talks, film showings and other activities, including with other societies like STAR throughout the year. To find out more about these come to our regular meetings, join the Society to receive email updates and check this site regularly for updates.
