Wildlife Photography Competition

The Competition:

The Wildlife Photography Competition returns for Spring! The competition will run from 01 May 2024 at 12pm to 16 June 2024 at 9am. It is open to staff and students. There are two categories:

1. Wildlife on campus

2. Wildlife in your local area

The competition will be judged by the Energy and Sustainability Team on 20 June 2024.

The winner of each category will receive a £25 voucher which can be used at the Zero Store and will be featured in the June/July edition of our Green Champions Newsletter.

Please note that we reserve the right to hold cancel, suspend or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

How to Enter:

1. Download and fill out this document regarding the consent for the image you provide (click 'Enable Editing' and then change from 'Viewing' to 'Allow Editing' in the top right corner).

2. The competition is free to enter. Please complete this form to submit your entry. By submitting your entry, you agree the following:

  • Your entry will be associated with the personal details you provide.
  • You grant us a worldwide non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your entries for the purposes described on this page and in connection with the Competition.
  • We may share your entry and/or personal details for purposes in connection with the Competition and as described on this page and submission form. Please see the University of Warwick's Privacy Notice and Data Protection webpages for further information on how your rights and how the University processes your personal data.
  • We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault of any kind.

The Rules:

1. Only one entry per person is permitted.

2. The photo you submit must be your own and it must be taken between 1st March and 16th June 2024.

3. If there are any people in the photograph, please make sure you gain their consent for the photo to be used.

4. Photos only please, no videos.

Please note that we reserve the right to refuse entry or refuse to aware the prize to anyone in breach of these Rules.

The Winner and Prize:

1. The Winner will be notified before 30 June 2024.

2. The Winner must respond within 7 days of notification, otherwise the prize may be forfeited and another winner selected.

3. The Prize must be collected by the winner within 14 days of being notified.

4. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.

Please note that we reserve the right replace the prize with an alternative of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control makes it necessary to do so; and We will not be responsible for any loss as a result of taking up the Prize.

5. We will publish the Winner’s name and their winning entries on the Energy and Sustainability social media pages at @WarwickUniSust on or before 30 June 2024.

6. We will share the Winner’s name, county and winning entries with anyone who emails sustainability@warwick.ac.uk up to 31 July 2024.

If you object to any or all of your name and winning entry being published or shared, please contact us. Please note that we must still provide the information and winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

  • By wildlife, we mean any plants, animals, green spaces and any nature you can spot. This could range from a photograph of a leaf to a bird to a woodland. We want to see what wildlife means to you!
