Hardship Funding

Students facing financial difficulty may be eligible for Hardship Funding from the University. This can be in the form of an Emergency Loan and/or a non-repayable award.

Emergency Loans (Home, International or EU Students)

An emergency loan may provide help to students who are experiencing short-term financial difficulty and are having difficulty meeting their essential living costs. Eligible Home, International or EU students can apply for an interest-free emergency loan of up to £250.

Hardship Funding For Home Students

Undergraduate Students - The Warwick Hardship Fund (WHF)

Full-Time Students

The Warwick Hardship Fund (WHF) is intended to provide discretionary financial help to Home students in situations of unexpected short-term emergency which causes them difficulty in meeting their essential living costs and some course-related costs (e.g., accommodation, childcare, transport, books, utilities etc).

The available funds are limited and cannot be used to help with tuition fees or provide any high-value, ongoing support.
Awards from the WHF are needs-related and non-repayable.

Students will need to go through a triage process to assess whether an application to the WHF is recommended. Part-Time Students

The available funds are limited and cannot be used to help with tuition fees or provide any high-value, ongoing support.

Reimbursement of a Diagnostic Test

Home students (undergraduate, postgraduate, MBChB or PGCE) who have attended an appointment with one of the University's Disability Advisers and have subsequently undertaken (and paid for) a full diagnostic test, may be eligible for reimbursement of their test.

£200 DSA Equipment Contribution

Home students who have been recommended to purchase a computer as part of their assessment for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA), will be required to pay £200 towards obtaining this. Certain students may be eligible for financial assistance to help with this cost.

Hardship Funding for International/EU Students

International Students Emergency Fund (ISEF)

The International Students Emergency Fund (ISEF) is intended to provide discretionary financial help to International and EU students in situations of unexpected short-term emergency, which causes them difficulty in meeting their essential living costs (e.g., food).

The available funds are limited and cannot be used to help with tuition fees or provide any high-value, ongoing support.
Awards from ISEF are needs-related and non-repayable.

International Students' Childcare Fund (ISCF)

The International Students' Childcare Fund (ISCF) is intended to provide discretionary financial help to enable International and EU students, with pre-school-age children in an approved childcare facility, to pursue a course of study.

Applications to ISCF are considered in light of each applicant’s financial circumstances.
Awards from ISCF are needs related and non-repayable.
