Global Illuminations Procession

Global Illuminations Procession

Join us for a dazzling international light procession winding through the heart of campus

Event date:
Wednesday 19th November, 1:30 - 7:00 pm, Central Campus

Join us for a dazzling international light procession during November, where you’re invited to join the rest of the Warwick community and create a luminous display, winding through the heart of campus. Let the rhythm of student musicians guide your steps as you carry your own handcrafted lanterns and light sculptures, lighting up familiar campus pathways with a creative glow.

Global Illuminations is just one event of the exciting One World Warwick Week, a week-long programme filled with activities and events designed to bring us together. Explore a world of cultures, ideas, and traditions through interactive workshops, captivating performances, and thought-provoking discussions. Whether you're passionate about food, music, art, or global challenges, there's something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.

MAKE YOUR OWN LANTERN AT HOME:
Use household recyclables and some craft items to create lanterns for the procession.

NOT SURE WHAT TO EXPECT?
Here's a look into the 2024 Global Illumination Celebration, we hope to see you for 2025!

Want to showcase your group in a big way?

Feedback from last year's procession showed that you want to see a wider range of cultures represented to really encompass that global feeling - and we agree!

That's why we’re offering a limited number of spaces for student groups, societies, and cohorts to work with professional artists and our team to design bespoke large props for the procession.

Talk to us here, if you have a idea, or just like the sound of representing your culture at this celebration!
