How to Organise Activities at the Warwick Venice Centre
You’ve probably heard all about our incredible Warwick Venice Centre. You might even have seen some pictures of the beautiful palazzo Giustinian-Lolin on the Grand Canal. Yet, for many at the University, how to use the centre might seem mysterious or obscure. Did you know, for example, that the centre and its rooms are available for hire by staff across the University (including postgraduates and ECRs)?
Perhaps you’re an administrator in a department and have queries about how to handle bookings in Venice that come up from your staff. Perhaps you’d be very keen to teach something in Venice, but have never quite known how to proceed or how your department can get involved.
In all cases, if you’re interested in learning more about the centre, how to host activities with us, what we can provide, or how to participate in the new Venice Short Courses programme this session is for you.
Among other topics, the session will cover:
- Why organise activities in Venice?
- Space and rooms at the centre
- AV, Tech, and hybrid capabilities at the centre
- Examples of previous events that have taken place at the centre
- How to include activities at the centre in funding bids
- Where to get information on pricing and rates for Warwick staff
- Existing links within Venice that we can facilitate
- Administrative questions (purchase orders, expenses, etc…)
- Travel queries (times of year, approximate costs, sustainable travel options, etc…)
- Venice Short Courses (how you / your department can get involved, what’s required, timelines, etc….)
- …and much more!
Both Dr. Bryan Brazeau (Academic Director WVC) and Mrs. Chiara Croff (Administrator WVC) will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.
Please reach out to venice@warwick.ac.uk or b.brazeau@warwick.ac.uk with any questions about the event.
