Tony Wheeler - co-founder of the Lonely Planet was one of the first cohort of students to graduate from University of Warwick 59 years ago.
Along with his wife, Maureen, he recently gifted a generous donation to fully fund a new series of four PhD scholarships, which will focus on the history of travel writing and will run for five years.
