On 22nd-23rd June the University of Warwick and Shanghai Jiao Tong University held a joint conference to mark the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo’s death. Keynote speeches included Professor Luca Mola, University of Warwick.

More than twenty specialists on Marco Polo and related historical topics participated in the conference from a diverse number of academic institutions and associations based in China, the UK, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Croatia and Turkey, namely the University of Warwick, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai World History Association, Chinese Association of Yuan History, Fudan University, Peking University, Lanzhou University, University of Szeged, Zhejiang University, Nankai University, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, University of Calgary, Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Bursa Uludağ University, Istanbul University, Shaanxi Normal University and Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg.
