Jon Cruddas MP will give a for a thought-provoking talk at Warwick Arts Centre on the need to rethink the role of trade unions as a force for the common good in our post-industrial society. This talk is part of a series of Imagining the Future talks as part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture Series, in celebration of the University of Warwick’s 50th Anniversary.

560 Children to Visit the University of Warwick for day-long Classics Festival
560 school children from across the country will visit the University of Warwick on 27th January for a day of lectures, seminars and to watch a performance of Aristophanes’ Thesmophoriazusae. The event is the largest outreach and engagement event the University’s Classics Department has ever hosted and also included a public performance of the play on January 26th at the Warwick Arts Centre.

Lady Godiva comes to Warwick Arts Centre
From Mon 28 Jul – Fri 1 Aug 2014 , theatre academics from all over the world will descend on the University of Warwick for the World Congress of the International Federation of Theatre Research (IFTR) – and they’ll be welcomed by a six metre high puppet of Lady Godiva. Come along and see Lady Godiva process from WMG to Warwick Arts Centre along University Road at 4pm today (Monday 28 July).

War Horse author Michael Morpurgo and the real-life inspiration behind the Oscar-winning film Argo, Tony Mendez are just two of the big names lined up for this year’s University of Warwick Book Festival (BookFest). Tickets are going on sale today (6) for BookFest, which will take place on campus on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May.
Lord Mayor of Coventry and University Celebrate Musical Diversity
In a unique spectacle of world music collaboration, ensembles representing Chinese, Indian, Latin, African and European music – and everything in between – will share the stage to exhibit, celebrate and fuse their musical traditions.
