A Celebration of Orchards and Fruit

Friday 1st Feburary 2 – 4pm


Staff, students and members of the community are invited to join us for a celebration of orchards and local fruits.

The event will start with the planting of local species of apple, pear and cherry in a newly selected orchard location.

Talks will follow on the importance of orchards in the landscape and their impact on wildlife, as well as poetry reading.

Speakers include:

  • Ian Jelley, Director of Living Landscapes at the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust
  • Andy Howard, Midshires Orchard Group and the Heritage Fruit Tree Company
  • Nigel Hutchinson, local Poet

Light refreshments will be provided.

Please bring sensible clothing and footwear including a change of shoes to be worn inside.

Please note that you will receive details on the location of the tree planting prior to the event.

The talks will take place in S0.08 in Social Sciences from approximately 3pm (to be confirmed nearer the time). There is a maximum of 25 places available for the talks on a first come first served basis.
