Meet the Education Strategy Team

The Education Strategy Team lead the University's strategy for education, and oversee the implementation of the programme of activities to achieve its goals

Professor Lorenzo Frigerio

Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)

Lorenzo holds responsibility for maintaining and enhancing excellent standards of teaching and learning across the broad spectrum of the University’s foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate provision. He leads our commitment to access and participation, to employability and to continuing to improve student satisfaction.

Professor Rebecca Freeman

Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education)

Beccy leads on the student success, access, engagement and experience elements of Warwick's Education and Student Experience Strategy and works across departments to drive forward Warwick's inclusive education approach. She co-chairs the Student Success Subcommittee with the Students Union Vice President (Sports) and nationally, the Russell Group Student Success Network.

Professor Andy Clark

Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education Policy)

Andy leads on championing undergraduate studies across the University, as well as developing education policy. He Chairs both the Institutional Board of Examiners and the Academic Regulations and Policy Review Panel. Along with Will Curtis he co-chairs the Quality and Standards Subcommittee and Curriculum Approval Panel. His academic focus is the organic chemistry of free radicals, medicinal chemistry and the preparation of sustainable materials generated from biomass.

Professor Georgia Kremmyda

Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching)

Georgia provides strategic academic leadership across the University on learning, teaching, curriculum, assessment and educational innovation, and provides leadership to our institutional teams that support educational practice and innovation. She co-chairs the Learning and Teaching Subcommittee with the Students’ Union Vice-President (Education), working with our community of educators and students to co-create and embed effective and innovative educational practices.

Professor Will Curtis

Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education Quality & Standards)

Will has responsibility for the University's education quality and standards and its breadth of collaborative provision. Will chairs the University's Education Partnerships Oversight Panel and Apprenticeship Oversight Panel. He is co-chair of the Quality and Standards Subcommittee and Curriculum Approval Panel. His academic focus is education and lifelong learning and he leads in areas of civic engagement and flexible curriculum, learning and teaching.

Adam is responsible for services supporting the whole student journey comprising Education Policy & Quality, Student Administrative Services, Student Opportunity, Widening Participation, Outreach, Admission, Doctoral College, Student Complaints & Academic Casework, and Flexible and Online Learning

Dan Derricott
Director of Education Policy and Quality

Dan leads the Education Policy and Quality's teams responsible for quality assurance and enhancement, academic governance, curriculum management, educational policy, and external compliance. He works closely with the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) to provide overall leadership to the University's Education and Student Experience Strategy, and with the Vice-Chancellor and University Secretary to lead the work of the Senate and its connection to the wider governance of the University.

Academic Director (Post Graduate Taught (PGT)

Lee promotes the interests of taught Postgraduate students and the development of an improved framework for postgraduate study at Warwick. Working with colleagues from departments and students across all programmes, he ensures that Warwick maintains and further improves its position as a leading provider of postgraduate education. Lee is also the Education Executive lead on Academic Integrity.

Professor Letizia Gramaglia
Head of Academic Development

Leti represents the Academic Development Centre (ADC) to ensure that their work is aligned to the Education Strategy. She is an experienced leader in Higher Education with a strong track record of influencing educational strategy, policy and practices at local and international levels. She has been recognised as a Principal Fellow of AdvanceHE (PFHEA) and National Teaching Fellow (NTF)

Director of the Warwick International Higher Education Academy

Jess is the Director of the Warwick International Higher Education Academy (WIHEA), the UK's first institutional academy of educators for staff and students dedicated to advancing learning and teaching excellence. WIHEA fosters inclusive partnerships and supports the education and student experience strategy, embedding innovative approaches to learning and teaching.

Roberta Wooldridge Smith

Deputy Academic Registrar & Director of Student Opportunity

Roberta leads Student Opportunity which focuses on the enhancement of the University’s co-curricular offer to students, led predominantly by institutional Education & Student Experience and International Strategies. Roberta co-chairs the International Education Working Group, and leads on physical and digital mobility, international volunteering, international employer engagement and programmes including the Warwick Award, Intercultural Communication, TeamWork, Warwick Volunteers, Warwick in Africa and Thrive. Student Opportunity works with students to support students’ skills development and career orientation, work experience and placement activity and broader personal development

Dr David Lees

Dean of Students

David Lees heads up the Dean of Students Office, providing strategic leadership of personal tutoring and the enhancement of the student experience. Engaging closely with colleagues across the University, and more widely within the UK, he works to ensure that academic pastoral support at Warwick sector-leading, supporting both academic outcomes and the wellbeing of students.

Director of IATL

Elena is the Head of Department at IATL (Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning) and in this role she leads cross-faculty educational innovation, interdisciplinary modules and student research programmes.

Senior PA to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education)

Sharon works in the University Executive Office as PA to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) and is Secretary for meetings of the Education Strategy Team.

Maanya Raju

Students' Union Vice President Postgraduate

As the Postgraduate Officer, Maanya represents the interests of students, to make sure their experience at Warwick is the best it can possibly be. Maanya will work with staff and students across the University to ensure that the student voice is heard, and the student interests are at the centre of everything the University does.

Alijah Taha

Students' Union President

The Students' Union President role is to make sure students' education experience at Warwick is the best it can possibly be. Alijah will work with staff and students across the University to ensure that the student voice is heard, and that student interests are at the centre of everything the University does. He will support and collaborate with Course Reps and Part-Time Officers to achieve real, positive change, and leads campaigns tackling the education issues at Warwick and beyond.

Ananya Sreekumar
Students' Union Vice President for Education

As Vice President for Education, Ananya hopes to improve the education experience for all students, push for accessibility within education, and ensure every student has fair opportunities here at Warwick. A key priority in her manifesto is a strong commitment to Decolonisation within Higher Education—working to challenge colonial legacies, promoting inclusive teaching practices, and advocating for a learning environment that reflects and respects diverse perspectives and histories.
