Gen.G partners with the University of Warwick Esports Centre for winter camp

The camp will allow participating students to experience Warwick’s business school courses, as well as visit UK esports teams and game developers based in Leamington Spa (a regional hub for game developers).

Students will also be able to attend a Q&A about studying abroad at the University of Warwick.

The Esports Winter Camp will last 11 days (10 nights). Warwick Esports and Gen.GLink opens in a new window said participants would “personally experience the esports learning journey at esports centre” and receive exposure into the gaming industry and academia.

Founded in 2017, Gen.G operates teams across a number of titles including Overwatch, League of Legends, and VALORANT. The organisation has one of the most prominent League of Legends teams, which has won three League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) titles in a row and is currently competing in this year’s World Championship as one of the tournament favourites.

Elenore Li, Esports Centre Coordinator for the University of Warwick, said: “We’re excited to partner with the top esports organisation, Gen.G, to delve into broader global educational opportunities.

“This collaboration will enable Warwick students to engage in meaningful discussions with the top-tier esports company, while simultaneously providing Asian students with valuable insights into the UK’s esports and game industry.”
