The Novel Now Theoretical and Critical Reading

Selected Bibliography

There are many studies of the novel. However, only a few approach more contemporary novels. For many of the novels on the syllabus, critical materials are still scarce -- often critical reviews published in reputed newspapers and literary magazines can be very useful (though not always). Below is a sample list of critical studies of the novel that might be of general use and might be referred from time to time. This can also be accessed as a stable PDF here. Additional specific critical items on the novels assigned will be listed throughout the term here.
