Overview

This interdisciplinary workshop seeks to chart the changing contours of knowledge about human subjectivity in transnational China through the prisms of gender and sexuality. Involving focused discussions of work-in-progress papers by the invited participants, this forum features the latest and most path-breaking research in the fields of gender studies, queer theory, history, sociology, literature, area studies, translation studies, and cultural and media/film studies. It will establish a core inter-institutional network of China scholars to plan future collaborative projects and/or group grant applications. Due to the venue restrictions of this workshop, interested attendants must pre-register with the organiser at h.h.chiang@warwick.ac.uk.
