I have joined the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance in October 2005 as a Research Fellow. Funded by HEIF, my first project was to produce a web-site on Thomas Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy, with materials on its page and stage history that will facilitate and enrich the teaching and research of this play. Structured into five databases - timeline, key fragments, performance history, Doing Kyd Conference, bibliography - the material is available on http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/ren/elizabethan_jacobean_drama/kyd/ .

Currently I am working on Elizabethan and Jacobean Drama, a project funded by EIF - University of Warwick and The Capital Centre.

My research interests include Shakespeare (performed, filmed, recycled), Renaissance theatre and its production - then and now, British contemporary drama, translation studies, audience response, (Eastern) European playwriting and performance, Romanian literature at large.

I have published on Hamlet on stage and in film; on re-writings of Shakespeare in Bond, Wesker, Marowitz and Stoppard; on theatre audiences; and on Romanian translations of Shakespeare. Currently I am working on a book on Romania's Hamlet and editing Doing Kyd. A collection of critical essays on Thomas Kyd's The Spanish Tragedy.
