Hannah Grayson: Modern Languages and Cultures

hannahgraysonHannah has taught a range of language and literature modules in French Studies, and loves being in the classroom. Teaching in French and English, Hannah is passionate about engaging students in subject material through interactive learning. She also thoroughly enjoys facilitating workshops for Masters students at Warwick Business School.

Her main aims in teaching are to develop students’ skills and experience in two areas: effective communication and critical thinking. To this end, she places high importance on creating atmospheres in which everybody feels able to participate. Her approachable and encouraging manner helps students feel confident in their learning. She expects high standards of commitment to learning and accuracy in language, and conveys this in regular, directed feedback.

Hannah finds it extremely rewarding to hear of students who have grown in confidence, developed their analytical skills, and excelled in spoken and written communication. She aims to provide inclusive and challenging sessions where students feel both supported and stretched. It is a privilege for her to teach Warwick students.

students say...

Hannah always went above and beyond her role as a tutor to help me in any way she could. This included extra help in classes, and additional material suggested. She also always helped me to think critically about my thoughts and analysis which was really beneficial when it came to exam time."

colleagues say...

Students respond enthusiastically to her teaching style (she communicates effortlessly with them) and appreciate her clear directions on how to improve. I have also appreciated greatly Hannah’s collegiate approach to teaching and learning in the department."
