Warwick attends the West Midlands Police Research Fair

The College of Policing teamed up with West Midlands Police to run the first-ever research fair in UK policing. The fair was held to develop stronger partnerships between the police and local universities, and to develop and share the evidence base of ‘what works’ in policing. Warwick University Professors, Jackie Hodgson and Neil Stewart, presented an overview of research that is currently being conducted by COPR.

Dr. Sally Austen, Criminal Justice Centre Seminar: Deaf Legal Rights

Dr. Sally Austen, a consultant clinical psychologist who specialises in assessing and treating deaf people, gave a lunch seminar on how people's disability can affect their legal rights in the criminal process.

Police Research Conference

2nd October 2013, University of Warwick

We hosted our inaugural conference for Police Research at Warwick Business School in October 2013. The conference was designed to provide an opportunity for police attendees to meet faculty and doctoral students working on police research and develop the next period of working together. Senior staff and officers delegates from the following police forces were in attendance: Avon and Somerset Constabulary, Derbyshire Constabulary, Essex Police, Greater Manchester Police, Leicestershire Police, Metropolitan Police Service, Northamptonshire Police, Nottinghamshire Police, Sussex Police, States of Jersey Police, Warwickshire Police, West Mercia Police and West Midlands Police. Representatives of MOPAC and the College of Policing were also attending.
