Centre's provision of undergraduate research opportunities cited as good practice in Warwick's latest QAA institutional audit report
The recently published report of the institutional audit of the University of Warwick conducted by the QAA stated that the "opportunities afforded through the Undergraduate Research Scholarship Scheme and the Reinvention Centre for Undergraduate Research for students to become involved in research activities are a feature of good practice." Examiners recommend award of PhD to Reinvention Centre team member
Elisabeth Simbuerger, the Centre's PhD student at Warwick, sat her viva recently and the examiners recommended that she be awarded a PhD. Congratulations, Elisabeth!
'Students at Work' film launched
Students at Work: Learning to Labour in Higher Education was researched and filmed by a team of undergraduate and postgraduate students and administrative and academic staff who were all based within the Sociology Department at the University of Warwick.
It was officially launched in the Teaching Grid at Warwick on 4 March 2009 and is now available to view online.
'Sociologists Talking' article by Les Back published
In his article, Les Back reflects on the exhibition 'Teaching and Learning In and For a Complex World', which was held by the Reinvention Centre in the Teaching Grid at Warwick in March-April 2008. The article is available to read online in Sociological Research Online.
Registration now open for the Fourth SLS Symposium
The Fourth Social Learning Space Symposium is to be held at Oxford Brookes University on 6 April 2009. The aim of the Symposium is to explore new and innovative social learning spaces, and this year's theme is 'Learning Outside the Square'.
