MGS Student Conference 2024

We are delighted to invite social science postgraduate students and early career researchers to the upcoming Midlands Graduate School (MGS) ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership annual conference. This year the MGS Conference will be hosted by the University of Leicester Thursday, June 27th 2024.

The theme this year is: Research for Change and Social Impact.

We are facing turbulent and uncertain times around the world and in UK. The search for political, societal, environmental, and economic coherence is strenuous. Now more than ever progressive and innovative research can guide change and exert the most impact in both academic and broader communities.

We invite researchers to present their work and the potential it has to transform their academic field as well as have an impact beyond academia. This is a great opportunity to share the passion and enthusiasm for research with peers and get valuable feedback.

The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended until Friday the 17th of May (while spaces last)

Please select your preferred format for presenting when registering (multiple can be selected) and include an abstract (250-300 words):

·Presentation (10min + 5min Q&A)

·Lightning Talk (5min)

·Poster

·Interactive activity (workshop, roundtable, all creative formats welcome)

Registration is free. We strongly encourage students from ethnic minority backgrounds, women, neurodivergent, people with disabilities, and diverse sexual and gender identities to register and attend. We are happy to provide assistance and make all possible adjustments to make your day enjoyable.
