'Intersectionality and Identity in the Social Sciences'

The ESRC Midlands Graduate School is hosting an academic conference under the theme of ‘Intersectionality and Identity in the Social Sciences.’
Intersectionality considers the interconnected nature of social stratifications such as race, class, gender, age, religion, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc, and how they shape our identity and everyday lived experiences.
Topics at the conference may include discrimination, political resistance, multiculturalism, gender politics and belonging and loss in a transnational world.
The Midlands Graduate School Conference (2019) invites postgraduate students and early-career researchers to send abstracts under the theme of ‘Intersectionality and Identity in the Social Sciences’. Paper formats include presentations, posters, and round table discussions. This is an interdisciplinary theme that covers a range of subjects, including geography, history, politics, law and sociology, among others.
