In three words or phrases: Flexible, encouraging, and efficient.
Provision of Training
I am flexible and adapt my supervision style based on individuals’ needs. If the candidate is quite independent, I will provide guidance and technical support for the project when needed. If the candidate prefers detailed supervision to become more independent later on, I am also happy to provide closed supervision on a daily basis.
Progression Monitoring and Management
I am here for advice and guidance to help you reach the goals you set for yourself.
Communication
I am in the lab most of the days and my office doors are open for short and long discussions if needed. The team has a WhatsApp group chat with which we regularly share exciting papers and communicate during the week and weekends. I also email/video chat when appropriate. Whilst I expect you to keep up with my/ team communications, I also expect you to manage your work/life balance.

Working Patterns
The timing of work in my lab is completely flexible, and (other than attending pre-arranged meetings), I expect students to manage their own time.
