In three words or phrases: Supportive, Goal-driven, Organised.
Provision of Training
I prefer to take responsibility for your technical training in your first project, leading to more independence later. At the same time, I will expect you to independently figure out appropriate skills proactively.
Progression Monitoring and Management
We will have a weekly meeting in which we discuss all aspects of your PhD projects. You can come to me when you need help troubleshooting and on other issues. I also have high expectations and would like to support you to your fullest potential.
Communication
We use MS Teams channels for the group and individual projects as well, in addition to weekly meetings. Although communication may occur out of work hours, I do not expect you to do the same. I will expect you to manage your work/life balance. I am happy to discuss any issues that are impacting your ability to fulfil your potential and our expectations.
