Employers & Placement Providers

We are looking for employers from all sectors to work with us in providing work placements for our quantitative methods degree students and are particularly interested in organisations requiring quantitative data research, management and analytical activities.

All students on the BA in Sociology and Quantitative Methods and the BA in Politics, International Studies and Quantitative Methods will be required to undertake a four week compulsory and credited placement at the end of their second year of study. The first series of placements took place in summer 2016 and you can read about our students’ placement experiences here.

Warwick already has a strong successful working partnership with research-focused organisations and has a strong track record of working with them with regards to career opportunities and student placements (e.g. Office for National Statistics, Royal Statistical Society, Government Statistical Service), local and regional government (e.g. Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce; Coventry City Council).

We are now seeking to increase our collaborative links and partnerships with employers. If your organisation requires data research, report writing on a particular spreadsheet, small data analysis, project management and related analytical activities and you are interested in working with us to provide student work placements, please email us at q-step@warwick.ac.uk. We can arrange for a more detailed discussion via telephone or a meeting with you in person.

General information on employer engagement with Q-Step Centres is also available on the Nuffield Foundation website.
