Building Partnerships half-day workshop - 5 February 2014

Coming soon - 5th February 2014 - a half-day workshop for arts practitioners and producers, and academic researchers. 1.30-5.30 at the Helen Martin Studio, Warwick Arts Centre.

 Who is it for?

· RESEARCHERS: how could artists and arts organisations help you to conduct and present your search, adding new perspectives, methods, insights and connections?

· ARTS PRACTITIONERS AND PRODUCERS: how could academic researchers bring new knowledge and ideas to your projects and organisations, helping you to solve problems, explore ideas and develop fresh arguments?

 What is it?

Warwick Creative Exchange is running a workshop to kick-start new collaborative projects between arts practitioners and producers, and researchers at the University of Warwick. In this workshop we will help you to make connections with the right partners, help you to identify new sources of funding, and even offer some seed money to get you started.

In this workshop you will:

· Explore successful examples of collaborative projects

· Identify sources of funding for collaborative projects

· Make connections and share ideas

You and your partner(s) will then need to write up your project as a short outline proposal, and submit it to the WCE Steering group. We will offer two projects - one 'arts led', one 'research led' - a development grant of £1,000 each to build a viable project. (The grant will need to be spent no later than 31st July 2014.)

WCE Forum, 27 June 2013

A meeting to update past and future participants in the work of the Warwick Creative Exchange was held in the National Grid Room at Warwick Arts Centre on Thursday 27 June. It was timed to allow participants to attend the first WCE seminar, Is Culture Valuable? [PDF] in the Warwick Arts Centre Studio later the same day. The Forum informed WCE partners of the forthcoming Warwick Commission on the Future of Cultural Value, gave an opportunity for partners to discuss collaborative research projects and introduced participants to the new WCE website.
