Honeybee trip to Brussels

A group of researchers from Warwick, under the Warwick Global Research Priority of Food, recently visited Brussels to meet with industry, conservation and policy groups, to discuss their work into honeybee health and disease.

The researchers included: Matt Keeling and Samik Datta from WIDER (modelling honeybee infections), as well as Dave Chandler (integrated pest management, bee health) and David Evans (virology of the honeybee) from the School of Life Sciences. There were presentations and round table discussions from all three research groups, with representatives present from the NFU, crop protection, pesticide management and land use. The meeting was a great success, and we hope to plan a return visit in the near future to build upon the useful discussions had.
