Second Contact Survey paper published.
The second paper from the MRC funded Contact Survey has just been published in Proceedings of the Royal Society B. This paper acts as a companion to our Interface paper in 2012 and gives more detail on the survey methodology and the raw reported results. In addition we focus on the occupation of the respondant as a key determinant of behaviour.
Keeling wins EU ERA-NET anihwa grant
A group of international researchers led by Matt Keeling has just been awarded a grant by the EU ERA-NET anihwa scheme: "Prediction and Control of Vector- and Movement-Borne Livestock Epidemics". This project aims to create the knowledge, technologies and frameworks to increase the effectiveness of detecting, controlling and eradicating emerging and exotic (vector-borne) diseases in European livestock.
Raphaelle Metras wins a Henry Wellcome Fellowship
Raphaelle Metras has reecently won a presigious Henry Wellcome Fellowship to study Rift-Valley fever. She will be based in the Mayotte Islands (see image) and at LSHTM, but will be frequently visiting Warwick. Raphaelle's project is a great mix of data collection and modelling, that combined should shed light on the dynamics of this complex infection.
