Fundamental to our work is to develop novel understanding of biological phenomona, from the within cellular processes, through the interaction between cells, to the population scale. The Zeeman Institute has particular strengths in cell signalling, cellular mechanisms and neuroscience.
Much of our research is focussed at understandng problems in human and animal health, and developing solutions to better control. We have a strong focus on both infectious diseases and cancer, and are motivated by a desire to improve lives and livelihoods.
Research in the Zeeman Institute is at the cutting-edge of developing new methodology and techniques. Most of our work involves the (statistical) analysis of data from laboratory, field or clinical work; and then the development of bespoke models to explain this behaviour or predict future dynamics.
