SBIDER at Warwick Relays

Two team of (mainly) SBIDER athletes competed in the annual Warwick Relays. Two mixed teams were entered, thanks to the efforts of Cameron and Ailene who both ran twice. The four-person teams saw each competitor racing a 2mile / 3.3km course, which fortunately this year wasn't a mud-bath.

Xavier Didelot has arrived

I'm pleased to say that Xavier Didelot has just arrived to take up his joint Professorship in Statistics and Life Sciences. He has timed his move to perfection, so that he goes straight into the new Mathematical Sciences building. He is in room 5.16

Xavier analyses genomic data to better understand bacterial evolution, epidemiology, ecology and pathogenicity. As such he bridges between the systems biology and epidemiology arms of SBIDER

Erin Gorsich has arrived.

I'm pleased to say that Erin Gorsich has just arrived to take up her Assistant Lectureship position in Life Sciences. She will be in room 331 of Senate House, until we move to the new building.

Erin is a disease ecologist with broad interests in infection dynamics, wildlife health, and conservation.
