Because we know we need a mix of minds from all walks of life, all parts of society and all cultural backgrounds if we’re going to generate the ideas and attitudes that create positive, fair and lasting change.

It starts early by giving young people from local schools a chance to take part in research and innovation thinking. It goes wide by breaking down gender, race, sexuality and disability barriers across students and staff. It runs deep by creating new ways in for talented people who haven’t taken a typical path. And it goes further by embracing people from the humanities, arts and social sciences; partners from business, government and the third sector; and citizens from across the country into our creative community.
