Key dates for 2024/25

  • Notify the Department if you intend to apply for promotion by Friday 29th November 2024.
  • Submit your full application & CV (using the CV template) for comments to Ann Dixon (A.Dixon@warwick.ac.uk) by Monday 9th December 2024, 5pm.
  • ACPPCLink opens in a new window will convene - Wednesday 18th December 2024.
  • HoD/Deputy HoD applicant feedback meetings - week commencing Monday 6th January 2025.
  • Revised applications, if applicable to be returned by Friday 17th January 2025 at the latest.
  • Friday 24th January 2025 - Deadline by which applications should be sent to Academic Processes (academicprocesses@warwick.ac.uk), copying in Ann Dixon (Non-Professorial) or Pat Unwin (Professorial).
  • Where possible outcomes will be communicated to applicants on or before 31 July 2025
  • 1st August 2025 - Date from which promotions are effective.

Academic Probation criteria are based on the following four areas of activity:

  • Research & Scholarship
  • Teaching & Learning
  • Impact, Outreach, Engagement
  • Collegiality, Leadership & Management

These criteria have been designed to provide transparent information on what is needed to successfully achieve probation. The criteria clearly outline the expectation for each area at every level of promotion, and in conjunction with the career pathway matrixLink opens in a new window, enabling individuals to proactively manage their successful completion of probation, and on-going career.

Academic Staff (regardless of career pathway) at FA7 and above may apply for a period of Academic Leave. The three types of leave available are:

  • Study Leave
  • Leave to Accept a Research Award
  • Unpaid leave of Absence

Key Dates for 2024/25

  • Notify Ann Dixon of your intention to submit an application by Monday 16th December 2024.
  • Submit your academic leave application form to Ann Dixon by Friday 31st January 2025.
  • Applications will be considered by the Senior Leadership Team with feedback given to applicants week commencing 10th February 2025.
  • Approved requests sent to Academic Processes by Ann Dixon by Friday 28 February 2025.
