Berlin 2013

Some spectacular autumn weather and the stunning city of Berlin combined to provide a hugely enjoyable research break for RJD. The TU chemistry building is the original 18th century pile which has been cleaned and refurbished and certainly looks the part. Host Martin Kaupp enjoys fantastic space for his 23-strong computational chemistry research group and an enviable W3 position. He's also a main driver for the UniCat centre of excellence as well as receiving substantial funding from a range of other projects. Overall, a hugely impressive setup.
