Abstract

The link between non-occupational radiation exposure and leukaemia mortality is well established, largely from studies of the A-bomb survivors and patients irradiatied for therapeutic purposes. Risk estimates in an occupational setting are very different, and the most influential cohort of workers in the assessment of these is the Sellafield workers. Concern about the reproducibility of cumulative dose measurements led to the current case-control study, which applied measurement error methods to allow for differences in these.
