Lord Mayor's Ball in aid of Warwick Cancer Research Centre

Lord Mayor’s Charity Ball

Friday, 24th March 2017

Coventry Transport Museum

Dear Friends

It is an enormous privilege to be the Lord Mayor of Coventry and I have witnessed the generosity, warmth and care shown by local people to the most vulnerable in our community.

After a break for many years, I have decided to resurrect the Lord Mayor’s charity ball as a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for my two chosen charities, which this year are:

  • Cancer Research through the Medical Research Department at the University of Warwick; and

  • Alzheimer’s Society

Both of the beneficiaries are worthwhile causes and your support can make a difference to many people’s lives here in Coventry.

This is why I am writing to you. I hope that you will join me at the fantastic Coventry Transport Museum for what promises to be an enjoyable evening.

The black-tie evening will include a drinks reception, followed by first class food, live musical entertainment, charity fundraising and an opportunity to meet with a wide range of people who play an important part in the life of our city.

To help raise funds for my chosen charities and maximise its success, I would appreciate your support for this prestigious event. If you can donate an unusual auction prize or would like to purchase tickets for the event, please email my office.

I’m proud of this wonderful city, home to great people and organisations who will want to play their own role in supporting what I know will be a memorable evening and I look forward to your support.

Kindest regards,

Councillor Lindsley Harvard
Lord Mayor of the City of Coventry
