About WCTU
Warwick Clinical Trials Unit was set up in 2005 as part of Warwick Medical School and received full registration status from the UKCRC in November 2007.
It is an academic clinical trials unit with expertise in the design and conduct of trials, particularly of complex health states and interventions.
The trials unit major strands of work are:
- Cancer
- Emergency and Critical Care
- Frailty
- Mental Health
- Musculoskeletal disorders and pain
- Trauma and Orthopaedics
- Clinical trials methodology
The unit’s approach is interdisciplinary, with collaboration between clinical trialists, statisticians, economists, clinical experts and project managers. The programmes of work draw together quantitative and qualitative methodologies in an evaluation framework.
High quality, randomised evidence is generated to inform modern clinical and health care practice.
Information on multi-centre randomised controlled trials being conducted within the unit and our other research may be found on the current trials page.
