Professor Gavin Perkins (Professor in Critical Care Medicine), Chief Investigator
Gavin leads the emergency and critical care group within Warwick Clinical Trials Unit. He served as Chief Investigator for the BALTI, BALTI-prevention and PARAMEDIC-1 (Lucas) trial and is currently Chief Investigator for the PARAMEDIC-2 (Adrenaline) and Breathe Trials. Clinically he holds appointments as a Consultant Physician in Critical Care Medicine at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and MERIT Team Consultant with West Midlands Ambulance Service.

Dr Claire Hawkes, Senior Research Fellow, Team Leader
Claire joined the Emergency and Critical Care research group in the Warwick Clinical Trials Unit (WCTU) at Warwick Medical School in January 2015. Her current work focuses on cardiac arrest, including developing an evaluation of a new system of embedding Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Emergency Care Treatment Plans and working with the Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Registry Outcomes (OHCAO) project team.

Assistant Professor Terry Brown, Research Fellow
Terry joined the OHCAO project team in January 2016. His current work focuses on the examination of data in the OHCAO registry, with particular emphasis on the variation of bystander CPR rates in UK and across the ambulance services, and the impacts on survival outcomes.

Scott Booth, OHCAO Registry Database Officer
Scott joined the OHCAO project team in April 2015. Scott contributes to the daily operational running of the project and liaises with ambulance services regarding enquiries about data and how to submit data to the OHCAO database. Scott has also been involved in writing and review journal article papers which use OHCAO data for their project.

Associate Professor Chen Ji, Senior Research Fellow, Statistician
Chen is responsible for cleaning, collating and analysing the data submitted to the OHCAO database system. Chen works closely alongside Terry and Scott to manage the data.

Rowena Williams, Senior Project Manager
Rowena joined the OHCAO project team in 2023 as Senior Project Manager. Rowena oversees the management of the OHCAO registry and works closely with the Study Manager to help with the operational running of the registry.

Adam de Paeztron, Study Manager
Adam started working at Warwick Clinical Trials Unit in September 2014. He joined the OHCAO project team as Study Manager in January 2019. He works full time on the project and is responsible for the daily operational and administrative running of the project.

Sam Brace-McDonnell, Research Fellow
Sam qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1995 and to date has worked in Acute Medicine, Coronary Care, Resuscitation and Emergency Medicine. She currently holds a part-time position as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine at Heart of England NHS Trust and has worked at the University of Warwick since 2009 in the Clinical Trials Unit. She is a NIHR Clinical Doctoral Research Fellow investigating the optimal method of case-ascertainment in OHCA in UK Ambulance Services.

Adrian Willis, Senior Programmer
Ade is responsible for the maintenance, development and support of the OHCAO database system which was developed to aggregate and process data obtained from the participating Ambulance Services. Ade ensures functional requirements are met and the system is fit for purpose.
