WOLLF - Wound management of Open Lower Limb Fractures

Description: An RCT reviewing the impact of negative pressure dressing versus standard dressing on infection rate and disability rating at 12 months in open fractures of the lower limb. This study has a feasibility element at 5 sites. LT is involved in qualitative interviews with up to 20 patients including those who chose not to consent to remain in the study. In addition two focus groups will be undertaken with staff to explore aspects of process that impact on recruitment. This is taking place at University Hospital Coventry and the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Progress: Twenty patients have been interviewed. Analysis and write up is in progress. The main study is recruiting well.
