In the beginning
In the beginning there occurred a beginning;
and there began time, space, matter; reality itself.
And reality span outwards, coalesced, cooled,
and there came to be light and darkness; earth, air, water.
And reality left in its wake patterns.
Patterns which had no coming and going
but simply were, and had always been, and would always be.
And the patterns together formed a Reality that was all reality,
derived from and encompassing all reality.
And reality brought forth life;
and life evolved in myriad forms,
and learnt to grow, to breathe, to feed,
to reproduce; to swim, to crawl, to fly, to walk.
And life wove patterns.
Patterns which had no coming and going
but simply were, and had always been, and would always be.
And the patterns together formed, within the Reality, a Life that was all life,
growing out of and holding within itself all life.
And life gave birth to consciousness;
and consciousness strove, yearned, questioned; sang, danced, told stories.
And consciousness spun patterns.
Patterns which had no coming and going
but simply were, and had always been, and would always be.
And, within the Life, the patterns joined
to form a Consciousness that was all consciousness,
springing from and drawing together all consciousness.
And so there came to be Being;
Being that was all being and arose from and held within it all consciousness,
all life, all reality.
And Being was conscious of itself and knew: "I am that which I am";
and was conscious of all that was and saw that it was good.
And it reached out to all that was and loved it;
and loved especially conscious life, which most closely reassembled it.
And conscious life reached out to it,
for it recognised itself to be a pale image of Being.
And, as Being held within it all reality, so it held within it all time,
and the beginning and end of time.
And so the end and the beginning were one and indivisible,
and were one in Being.
