The Department of Psychology was ranked as 7th out of more than 80 psychology departments in the country for research outputs in the REF 2014. The three departmental cross-disciplinary groups—the Behavioural Science Group, the Lifespan Health & Wellbeing Group and the Language and Learning Group—are known for their research excellence. The Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Group, led by Professor Dieter Wolke, focuses on processes and mechanisms that underlie health and wellbeing across the lifespan. The group’s researchers are from a variety of backgrounds including longitudinal epidemiology and experimental psychology, and translate findings from basic research into clinical practice, influencing health policy in the UK and worldwide. The group works closely with the Division of Mental Health and Wellbeing at the Warwick Clinical Trial Unit and The Departments of Statistics and Mathematics.
