Background

Having achieved an MMATH undergraduate masters degree in mathematics at the University of Warwick, I joined the Systems Biology Doctoral Training Centre in 2008, where I attained an MSc. I completed a miniproject with Dr Miriam Gifford as part of the masters year and decided to continue along the same lines in my PhD.

Away from work I am interested in football, particularly Charlton Athletic, traveling to unusual destinations and current affairs – I’m formerly president of the International Current Affairs society at the University, which provided an informal place to discuss the goings on of the world without the rigour and pressures of a debating environment. For the first 3 years of my undergraduate degree, I was also an active member of the golf club but can’t play to a particularly high standard.

As for the past, I grew up in Charlton, South East London, and went to Bexley Grammar School for both secondary and A-Level education.
