Research Interests
Multiscale modelling approaches for predicting structure-property relations in advanced heterogeneous materials with nano- and micro-size inclusions. Theoretical framework for those approaches stems from continuum mechanics and homogenisation, along with their numerical implementation/solution using nonlinear finite-element procedures and machine-learning approaches. Problems involve chemo-mechanics of phase transitions, electro-mechanics of energy harvesting, and non-linear viscoelastic flows.
Research project examples:
- Chemo-mechanics of phase transitions in Li-on batteries
- Electro-mechanical response of dielectric elastomers for energy harvesting
- Nonlinear viscoelastic flows in manufacturing of biomedical scaffolds
