My educational background is apprentice time served, with mainly in-house training courses. The Master’s Foundation was my first foray into formal education for many years, but was absolutely the right course to get me back into education and learning to learn again.

Through my employers, I was offered the opportunity to gain an external qualification which would develop me personally and add value to the business. There were a number of routes I could have taken with different universities in the Midlands area but I chose WMG at Warwick as it offered the best range of modules and subject matter that was most relevant to me both at the time, and thinking of future roles.

The standard of modules, delivery and supporting notes etc has been excellent throughout, the material taught is relevant and applicable in ‘real life’ back at work, and applying tools and techniques based on academic learning has benefited both me and the company I work for.

I have recommended the same course and route to a number of people back at Rolls-Royce, and sent some of my team leaders on short courses (Working in Teams etc) to help prepare and develop them for future roles.

I have recently begun studying for my MSc in Engineering Business Management and hope to complete in 2014
