Warwick Racing

Formula Student is an IMechE organised competition for the design & construction of a single seat racing car to compete at Silverstone during July.

The University of Warwick team Warwick Racing has entered for the past 10 years, having (so far!) its most successful year in 2010 with the W10, I find myself fortunate to have been a part of that team!

The W10 developed several applications of ALM, with significant benefit to packaging, weight and centre of gravity.

An Inconel 718 Exhaust Header - high strength, light weight & enabled previously impossible geometry

Titanium Ti64 driveshaft ends - bonded to CFRP tube for exceptionally light weight powertrain

Alumide Intake system & Electronics packaging - light weight material, able to provide improved geometric freedom in manufacture.
