Energy Storage
Storage of electrical energy is generally a complex and expensive challenge. New and improved solutions are required to balance the evolving supply of and demand for energy across applications including automotive, manufacturing and grid. As demands continue to change and grow, suppliers and manufacturers will be expected to manage and improve infrastructure and technology solutions to keep pace.
We bring experts together from across disciplines and sectors to collaborate on energy storage challenges faced by industry. Our team includes mechanical engineers, chemists, electrical / electronics engineers, materials and manufacturing specialists and our work is always conducted alongside industrial and academic partners. Our Energy Innovation Centre provides access to world-class facilities to allow development, test and validation of solutions.
Our current research in this area forms part of our involvement in the High Value Manufacturing Catapult and is based on a long history of research into hybrid, electric and low carbon vehicles.
Projects
We are undertaking a range of projects with industrial and academic partners relating to energy storage. Our projects cover the process from fundamental research into electrochemistry and materials development through to manufacturing and systems integration.
